Relate counsellor, Maxine Aston has produced a much-needed
analysis of intimate relationships where one adult has AS and
this book is a must for all those with AS and their partners, as

by Genevieve Edmonds and Dean Worton.
Written by two people with Asperger syndrome for people
with Asperger syndrome. A practical guide for adults with
Aspergers syndrome to seeking, establishing and maintaining

The Asperger's Syndrome Foundation produce a leaflet for Partners of
Asperger’s Syndrome Adults, which provides basic information and things to
consider about your relationship.
There are several books available that have been written by those in
relationships involving AS and also those with experience of helping AS
couples. Below is a selection, but there are more appearing all the time.

An Asperger Marriage,
by Gisela and Christopher Slater-Walker
Chris and Gisela have been together for 12 years and four years
ago Chris was diagnosed with Asperger syndrome. Their book is
the first to examine a successful relationship from both
perspectives. It is essential reading for similar couples and also
the organisations that support such relationships. Available from

Asperger Syndrome and Long-Term Relationships,
by Ashley Stanford.
Misunderstandings are easy in any relationship but especially
with a person who has Asperger syndrome. Ashley has been
married to a man with Asperger syndrome for 14 years and this
book offers a wealth of comfort and successful solutions.

Asperger Syndrome in the Family: Redefining Normal,
by Liane Holliday Willey.
Liane Holliday Willey and one of her daughters both have
Asperger Syndrome. In Asperger Syndrome in the Family she
looks, with honesty, wisdom and humor, at the implications this
has for her family, both the Aspie and the non-Aspie members.
Not only does the book underscore the importance of mutual
support and respect in an Aspie family, it offers practical help for
